Amazon Kicks Off October Prime Day Early With Deep Cuts on Echo, Ring and Fire TV

Amazon has started rolling out discounts ahead of its October Prime Day event, with its own hardware taking the deepest early cuts. The sale officially begins at 3AM ET on October 6 (midnight PT) and runs through 3AM ET on October 8, but shoppers can already find a spread of markdowns.

The biggest percentage drops are on Ring gear. The Ring Floodlight Cam 2K, a wired model with 2,000 lumens and 6x digital zoom, has fallen from $199.99 to $99.99. The second-gen Ring Battery Doorbell 2K is down to $39.99 from $99.99, while the top-end Battery Doorbell 4K Pro, which records in 4K and has a swappable battery, is $149.99 instead of $249.99.

Amazon's streaming and smart home lineup is also heavily reduced. The Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is $37.99, the 2023 Fire TV Stick 4K Max is $44.99, and the Fire TV Cube is $89.99, less than half its usual $199.99. On the Echo side, the Echo Dot (fifth-gen) drops to $39.99, the new Echo Dot Max to $79.99, the Echo Spot to $54.99, and the Echo Show 11 to $149.99. The larger Echo Show 15 is $249.99, down from $349.99. The Fire HD 8 tablet with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs $79.99, and a Blink Mini pan and tilt camera is $23.99. Eero's last-gen Pro 6E router is $149.99 for a single unit.

Outside Amazon's own products, there are some notable offers. Bose's SoundLink Plus portable speaker is $179, down $90, and the more powerful SoundLink Max is $279 instead of $399, with those prices matched at Best Buy and Bose. Belkin's MagSafe 15W 2-in-1 wireless charging dock is $59.99, half its $120 list price, and a 25W Qi2.2 foldable dock is $42.99. Belkin's Switch 2 charging case with a built-in power bank is $59.49.

Those after something bigger can look at the Ecovacs Deebot X12 OmniCyclone robot vacuum at $799, down from $1,499.99, or the Dreame X50 Ultra at $849.99 with a free Dreame account. An Asus ProArt 27-inch 1440p USB-C monitor is $275, and Samsung's 32-inch Movingstyle smart display is $499.99.

The October event is also a preview of what is likely to return during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so the prices now are a useful benchmark. More deals are expected to appear before October 6 as retailers respond.
